How Did Jolien Verschueren Die?
Jolien Verschueren was honored by the Belgian cycling community. After a brave battle with cancer, the 31-year-old cyclocross cyclist died Friday night. In 2018, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, but that didn't stop her from cycling.

Who Was Jolien Verschueren ?
Jolien Verschueren was born on 7 May 1990 in Kortrijk. Belgian cyclocross rider for Pauwels Sauzen–Bingoal, a UCI cyclocross team. She competed in the women's elite event at the 2016 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Heusden-Zolder, representing her country. In 2015, she won the Koppenbergcross, and in 2016, she won the DVV Verzekeringen Trofee Koppenbergcross 2016, defeating world champion Thalita de Jong.

She was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2018. Last winter she rode her last race on the Koppenberg, where she won in 2015 and 2016.
