How Did Vera Nikolić Die?

Vera Nikoli's ordeal began on January 21 of this year, when she suffered a stroke in Kruevac. She was sent to Belgrade with a ruptured aneurysm and had surgery at the Belgrade Neurosurgery Clinic. She was in a medically induced coma for six months and did not make a full recovery.

Who Was Vera Nikolić?

On September 23, 1948, She was born in Grabovica. She is the lone world record holder among Serbian athletes. When she stopped the stopwatch at 2: 00.5 in London on July 20, 1968, she placed the dream limit at 800 meters. She had owned it for over three years.


Vera also won the European Championships twice. In Budapest in 1966 and Helsinki in 1971, she won gold in the 800 meters. She is without a doubt the greatest Serbian athlete of the twentieth century.


She was awarded the greatest athlete in Yugoslavia four times, and she was crowned the most successful athlete in the country in 1966. (including men).
