How Did Aggrey Awori Die?
Aggrey Awori, a former ICT minister, has died. According to Mr. Peter Oguttu, a close friend, the former presidential contender died Monday afternoon at the age of 82.
Mr. Oguttu told this reporter that Awori died at a private hospital in Kampala's Naalya district. Mr. Oguttu, who characterized his relationship with Mr. Awori as one of "brotherhood," added, "He has been sick for almost a month and I have been in touch with him until today when his wife, Thelma, notified me that he had died."

Who Was Aggrey Awori?
Aggrey Siryoyi Awori was born on 23 February 1939 in Uganda. Aggrey Siryoyi Awori was a Ugandan economist and politician who served in the Cabinet of Uganda as Minister for Information and Communications Technology from 16 February 2009 until 27 May 2011.
Prior to that, he served in the Ugandan Parliament from 2001 to 2006, representing Samia-Bugwe North in the Busia District. Awori represented the Uganda People's Congress (UPC) in parliament and was an outspoken member of the opposition. He left the UPC and joined the ruling National Resistance Movement in 2007.
